. Thiruvabharanam procession
Thiruvabharanam, sacred jewellery, for the Makaravilakku festival at Sabarimala will be taken in a 83-km traditional path.The Thiruvabharanam was an offering made to the Ayyappa temple by the king of the erstwhile royal kingdom of Pandalam who is believed to be the foster father of Ayyappa. The jewellery will be taken out of the palace strong room and handed over to the Travancore Devswom Board authorities

.The ceremonial procession carrying the Thiruvabharanam, the jewellery to be offered to the presiding deity of Swamy Ayyappa Temple at Sabarimala, will set off from Valiyakoickal Sastha Temple at Pandalam.

 

Staring from Valiyakoickal Sastha temple it will reach the Ayroor Puthiyakavu Devi temple the same evening via Kaippuzha, Kulanada, Ullannoor, Parayankara, Kuriyanipallay, Kooduvettickal, Kavumpady, Kidangannur and Aranmula.

The procession will resume its journey from Ayroor to reach Laha, via Peroorchal, Keekozhoor, Aayickal, Pulickamoozhy, Kuthukallinpady, Mandiram, Edakkulam, Vadaserikkara, Madamon, Perinad and Puthukkada, by evening.

The procession will set off to Sabarimala the next morning. The Thiruvabharanam will be brought to the Sabarimala Sannidhanam via Plappally, Elavumkal, Nilackal, Attathode, Kollamoozhy, Vellachimala, Aettappetty, Oliyampuzha, Valiayanavattom, Cheriyanavattom, Neelimala, Appachimedu and Saramkuthi.
