Responsible tourism
Kerala Tourism has been presented the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Ulysses Award for Innovation in Public Policy and Governance for its path-breaking Responsible Tourism project in the backwater destination of Kumarakom. Kerala Tourism made the country a proud winner of the UNWTO award for the first time. The honour was received by Tourism Secretary Suman Billa at the UNWTO Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Tourism at the International Tourism Trade Fair at Madrid in Spain. .
